Welcome to the Nairobi Clash: Tekken 8 Showdown, Kenya's premier Tekken 8 tournament! Organized by KenyaGamers, this event brings together the best players from across the country to compete for a share of KES 100,000 and the ultimate bragging rights. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a rising star, this is your chance to prove your skills on the biggest stage.

The tournament will be held in a hybrid format—players can compete on-site in Nairobi or join online from anywhere in Kenya. With a double elimination bracket, every match counts, and only the most resilient fighters will emerge victorious.

Format & Rules

The tournament follows a double elimination structure, meaning players get a second chance after their first loss. All matches are best of 3 until the Grand Finals, which will be best of 5. The competition is strictly 1v1 on console (PS5), with standard Tekken 8 rules and settings.

• Platform: PS5 (offline) or PC (online, via Parsec)
• Character Lock: Players may switch characters between matches, but must lock in before each set.
• Stage: Random stage selection, with no stage hazards.
• Controller: Any controller is allowed, but must be brought by the player for offline matches.
• Online Play: A stable internet connection is required; if a player disconnects, the match will be replayed unless deemed intentional.

The total prize pool is KES 100,000, distributed as follows:

Round Schedule

Note: Offline matches will be held at the KenyaGamers Arena in Nairobi. Online matches will be coordinated via Discord.

How to Register via WhatsApp

To register, simply send a WhatsApp message to +254 700 123 456 with the following details:

1. Your full name
2. Your KenyaGamers username (if any)
3. Your preferred platform (PS5 or PC)
4. Your location (Nairobi or Online)

You will receive a confirmation message with payment instructions. The entry fee is KES 500 for online participants and KES 1,000 for offline participants (includes lunch and refreshments). Payment can be made via M-Pesa to the provided till number.

1. Do I need to be in Nairobi to participate offline?

Yes, offline matches will be held at our arena in Nairobi. However, if you're outside Nairobi, you can still compete online from anywhere in Kenya.

2. What are the internet requirements for online play?

A stable connection with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload is recommended. We'll also provide a ping test before the tournament to ensure fair play.

3. Can I switch characters between matches?

Yes, you can switch characters between sets, but you must lock in your character before each match. This adds a strategic layer to the competition.
