Format & Rules

Match Structure

5v5 standard competitive format.
All matches are Best of 1 until the semifinals, which are Best of 3, and the grand final is Best of 5.
Maps are selected via a veto system (each team bans one map, then picks).
Matches are played on the latest patch with standard tournament settings.

Eligibility

Open to all Kenyan residents (proof of ID required).
Each team must have 5 players and up to 1 substitute.
Players must be at least 16 years old (parental consent for minors).

Conduct

All players must adhere to the KenyaGamers Code of Conduct.
Cheating, smurfing, or any unfair advantage will result in immediate disqualification.
Matches must be streamed with a 5-minute delay for spectator fairness.

Prize Pool

The total prize pool is KES 150,000, distributed as follows:

How to Register via WhatsApp

Registration is quick and easy! Follow these steps:

Gather your team of 5 (plus optional sub).
Open WhatsApp and send a message to +254 700 123 456 (KenyaGamers official).
Include your team name, captain's full name, and phone number.
List each player's in-game name (IGN) and Riot ID.
Pay the entry fee of KES 2,000 per team via M-Pesa to the provided paybill (after confirmation).
You'll receive a confirmation message and a team code.

Registration closes on August 26, 2026. Slots are limited to 32 teams, so act fast!

FAQ

1. Do I need to be in Nairobi to participate?

No, the tournament is fully online. As long as you have a stable internet connection and can play on the Africa South server, you're good to go from anywhere in Kenya.

2. What if my team has a player who can't make it on match day?

You can use your substitute player. If you don't have a sub, you may play with a stand-in, but they must be registered before the match. No last-minute pickups.

3. How are matches refereed?

Each match will have a dedicated admin from KenyaGamers who will be in the lobby to ensure fair play. They will also be available on Discord for any disputes.

4. Is there an age limit?

Players must be at least 16 years old. If under 18, a parent or guardian must sign a consent form.

5. What is the refund policy?

Entry fees are non-refundable unless the tournament is cancelled by KenyaGamers. In that case, full refunds will be issued.
